Life can pull children, youth and families in many different directions; however, no matter where we are on our journey, God is there with us. At Danville Congregational Church, we want our children to know that, “Nothing, absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God.” (Romans 8:38-39) DCC is an inclusive, welcoming community where we encourage families of all varieties, configurations, and backgrounds to get involved.
DCC offers a safe and nurturing environment. Children and youth are encouraged to ask questions and discern their own spiritual journeys. For children aged preschool through 5th grade, Godly Play and Holy Moly meets on Sunday morning following the Time with Children in the worship service. During this same time, Donuts and Devotions takes place for our middle school and teen aged members. For infants and children through age three we offer nursery care with a professional childcare provider. The nursery is available fifteen minutes before the service each week. This area is equipped with a speaker system so parents can remain in the nursery, if they wish, so they can participate in the worship service.
On Sunday evenings throughout the school year, youth in grades 6 through 12 are invited to join our pastor(s) and youth advisors for Youth Group. At DCC, we strive to build community, encourage Christian spiritual exploration, and deepen relationships among our youth. DCC’s children, youth, and families are invited to participate in many special events and service projects throughout the year, including: All Church Family Picnic, Church Camp at Camp Caz, Intergenerational Christmas Pageant, Christmas for Others, Winter Nights Shelter, marching in the San Francisco Pride Parade, and supporting Heifer International.
