Godly Play

Through vivid storytelling and open-ended questioning, our Montessori-style Godly Play program invites children to see themselves as active participants in the story of faith.

Each Godly Play class shares together in a time of storytelling, then participate in open-ended wondering questions. Children engage the material presented through enrichment activities of their choosing. Class concludes with a snack and prayer.

Godly Play (for children ages 3 through grade 2) is offered immediately following Time for Our Children (they come to worship first, then are invited to go to Godly Play). All children are welcome to leave the Sanctuary at that time or they are welcome to stay in worship with their families. They reunite with their families after worship during fellowship time.

Holy Moly

Holy Moly is a video-based curriculum that follows the arc of the Bible. Animated videos of the Bible stories don’t use narration. Instead, visuals and sound effects give each child the opportunity to wonder and retell the story in their own words.

Each Holy Moly class shares in watching the Bible video, reading the story aloud in their Holy Moly Bibles, engaging to discussion, and reflecting on the story through art, music, and drama.

Holy Moly (for grades 3 through 5) is offered immediately following Time for Our Children (they come to worship first, then are invited to go to Holy Moly). All children are welcome to leave the Sanctuary at that time or they are welcome to stay in worship with their families. They reunite with their families after worship during fellowship time.

Peace Village Camp

Peace Village Camp is a week-long, half-day camp for children ages 4 – grade 8 that teaches children, youth, and families practical and concrete skills in conflict resolution, empathy, creating inner peace, connecting with the natural world, and collaborative leadership. By focusing on these skills, Peace Village can help address some of the most challenging issues in our communities. The Peace Village curriculum is focused on using the first three classes, Mindfulness, Connecting with Nature, and Media Literacy to prepare children for the development of real skills with the fourth class in Conflict Resolution. The curriculum focuses on teaching students to build inner strength as they learn to transform conflict and become mindful peace builders!

In 2017 Peace Village Camp will run June 5-9 from 1:00 to 4:30 PM, followed by a special Camp Sunday celebration in Sunday worship. Stay tuned for details and registration!
