‘LGBTIQ+ justice means affirming the dignity, rights, and full humanity of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions.
We believe everyone deserves to belong, thrive, and be celebrated for who they are. Through education, inclusion, and advocacy, DCC remains committed to creating safe and welcoming spaces for LGBTIQ+ individuals and their families—within our church and in the wider world. DCC has been an Open and Affirming church of the United Church of Christ since 1998.
DCC is proud to sign on to the 2025 World Pride Call to Action.
Valley Pride Event
Hosted at DCC and co-sponsored by PFLAG and other Tri Valley justice-focused organizations, Valley Pride is a growing, inclusive celebration of love, identity, and community.
Now in its second year, the event brings together people of all ages for a joyful mix of education, celebration, and connection. It includes speakers, movies, a resource fair, and opportunities to learn and stand in solidarity with our local LGBTIQ+ community. Valley Pride reflects our commitment to justice, inclusion, and radical welcome.

Divine Identity Exhibit
Inspired by religious iconography references and other artist’s images of modern-day saints, this exhibit, DIVINE IDENTITY by photographer and artist Salgu Wissmath (they/them), celebrates the sacredness of queer folx of faith by transforming their portraits into icons. These subversive art forms are prayers reminding us to honor the living saints among us-bringing to light those who are both queer and spiritual and encouraging the viewer to recognize their own sacredness.
This exhibit is on display in the sanctuary of Danville Congregational Church during the month of June, Tuesdays-Thursdays from 10am–2pm and Sundays during worship until noon. All are invited to attend a reception and artist talk on Saturday, June 20th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. You can also access a preview of the exhibit at the DCC booth at Valley Pride (srvalleypride.org) on June 6th.
